Notice to Contractors

Sealed bids for the primary spillway replacements at Detention Dams 2-18A and 1-17 in Pawnee County, will be received by Pawnee Watershed Joint District No. 81, PO Box 367, 20476 SE US-283 Hwy., Jetmore, KS 67854, until 7:00 p.m. April 19, 2021, at which time and place bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Description of Work

Primary spillway replacement at two dams located 7.5 miles apart in Pawnee County, Kansas. Work includes excavating to remove existing primary spillways and installing new primary spillways consisting of 48-inch diameter precast concrete manhole and 20- to 24-inch diameter PVC pipe. Combined estimated quantities include 9,550 cubic yards of excavation, 10,235 cubic yards of earthfill, 130 feet of 20-inch AWWA C900 PVC pipe, 153 feet of 24-inch AWWA C900 PVC pipe, 81 cubic yards of flowable fill, and 173 cubic yards of concrete, and appurtenant items.

All work shall be completed in conformance with the project construction drawings, construction specifications, and stormwater pollution prevention plan.

Work Timing

The Work is to commence within twenty (20) calendar days after the Notice to Proceed is issued. Notice to Proceed is anticipated to be issued on June 1, 2021. Completion of the work is desired within 150-days after such notice.

Site showings will be conducted by Pawnee Watershed Joint District No. 81 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. April 8, 2021 at the sites.

All bids must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier’s check or a bid bond for not less than 5 percent (5%) of the total bid price (including alternates), made payable to Pawnee Watershed Joint District No. 81.
